A charming open-air lobby with whirring ceiling fans and a veranda looking toward a spacious lawn, the pool complex, and the ocean portray the plantation-style tone maintained by the hotel. Pineapple-shaped slats on balconies enhance the rustic look. Lush gardens between buildings and the expansive oceanfront lawn create an only-in-Hawaii scene.

Comprised of 198 rooms in seven two-story buildings arrayed on six acres, the Aston Islander on the Beach provides plenty of room for privacy and relaxation. Access to top (second) floors is by staircase, not elevators. In the lobby, an activity desk arranges luaus, excursions up the nearby Wailua River, helicopter sightseeing trips to North Kauai's spectacular Napali Coast, and all other activities available throughout the island.

Recreation

The Wailua Golf Course runs along the ocean 10 minutes south. The Wailua River, five minutes south, is the longest navigable river in Hawaii, and boat and kayak trips up the river are popular. Other recreational opportunities abound on Kauai, including those listed below.
