This hotel is very nice. The grounds are pretty and decerated with a lot of topical plants and flowers. The rooms are ok. If you look at the time share model room, it is much more nice and decarated compared to the regular ones. The regular ones are kind of plane and very white. The ocean views are beautiful and its nice to see the sunset right on your living room. The pools are good, just a little boring and very very quiet. The time share people do get annoying, but its not that bad. Over all the hotel was above average. The rooms are very spacios and there are more than enough room, especially the two bedroom one (for a family). They even have coctails for free at certain hours of certain days. They have a nice first day breakfast and they even give you some offers like buy one helicopter ticket, get one free (which can become very helpful because everything there is pricey) I would recomend this to anyone who wanted to know.
We were in Poipu from 2/8-18/2004. During our first week we stayed at a nearby condo and visited friends who owned at the Embassy. We liked the complex so much we bought an ocean front week and then stayed at the Embassy for our last 3 days on Kauai. There is much to do on site and the surrounding areas. The private luau on Wednesday evenings, the pools and the nearby Hyatt Hotel beach are just a few of the attractions. We look forward to returning next year with some of the kids and grandchildren.
We didn't do this place justice. The whole island is so beautiful, we were hardly at the resort during our 7 night stay. The grounds are breathtaking, and the rooms are very adequate. The window a/c is noisy as mentioned in other reviews. The wind always seemed to be blowing in Poipu. You won't need to worry about an ocean view here, the whole resort is beautiful. Parking is bad if you get back late. You can spend up to 10 minutes getting from your room to your car. My advice is to slow down and enjoy the walk.
