Without a doubt, my favorite place on the planet. My husband and I first visited Kauai in '99 and stayed at the Sheraton. While it was very nice, when we walked through the Hyatt, we couldn't imagine a place that embodied the word "Aloha!" more than this hotel! We were lucky enough to get to stay there in May of '02. Everything was wonderful: from check in, to our room. The breakfast was incredible, and the bellman gave me a lei when we left because I was so sad! We went to the Big Island last October, and stayed at the Mauna Lani. I can honestly say that it had nothing on the Hyatt. While it was veryu nice, the staff and grounds simply could not compare to the Hyatt's luxurious hawaiian feel. If you want elegance and the real feel of Hawaii, this is the place. Just booked a flight for October, can't wait to go back!
Oh, how incredible was the Hyatt! The setting was so perfect. When we went there it was totally booked for a meeting for the week - but it never felt like there were more than 20 people in the entire resort. It is so sprawling - so many amazing places to curl up and watch the waves, read or totally veg! One suggestion..........If you can avoid buying items in the gift shops - do! I saw 90% of all their items at other gift shops on the island and at Wal-Mart in Lihu-e 50% cheaper than at the Hyatt - everything - shirts, dolls, all of it! Save your $ and spend it on their food - it's worth it!! Check availability and book Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa |
