My husband and I checked in on February 11, 2004. We were not intially in a ocean front room, but upgraded to a full ocean front room--double beds, which was fine. We paid $40 extra per night. This was a huge bargain, we were on the 17th floor with a beautiful view. I will decline to say what the total cost of the room was for fear of completely outraging some people, but it was very reasonable. Our entire experience with the Aston Waikiki was awesome! We loved the breakfast and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The valet service was very helpful, we really appreciated all the guys asking us were we were going and if we needed directions or if we had a good time and so on and so forth. We even made it through the cheerleader convention when the hotel was taken over by cheerleaders on Feb 12-15. I just have to say that I did stay at this hotel 5 years ago and I can see that it has defintely been remodeled. Even having stayed there before, after reading some of the horrible reviews, I was very apprehensive to stay there again. My husband and I went there with open minds and were pleasantly surprised. So, please don't let the horrible reviews get you worried, go in with an open mind and enjoy yourself!
We were here on a corporate incentive trip and found the resort to be on par with other 5 star resorts we have enjoyed elsewhere. The grounds are beautiful and make you feel you are in a garden or jungle instead of a few minutes from the airport. The pool area is also beautiful and be warned that you have to swim to 2 of the hot tubs which are usually the only ones empty. We spent most of the time on the beach and had a great time in the ocean. The room overlooking the pool and beach had an extra large lanai and bathroom. The mini fridge was useful. Ate at Duke's 2 or 3 times and were not disappointed. Had several Lava Flow drinks ordered on the beach which we appreciated. The local ABC store is very close and good for snacks and gifts. We were able to access many tours from this resort too.
Stayed five nights of our honeymoon in July of 2003 at this hotel. LOVED IT! The pool is totally amazing and is open at night which allowed us to swim after dinner each evening. The pictures if the pool don't do it justice. It is huge and so beautiful at night. The hotel also has a beautiful beach with calm water for swimming during the day. The resort has a number of restaurants including Duke's which offers a terrific salad bar and service. Staff is friendly and hospitable. Read reviews prior to travel there and had been concerned about proximity to the airport... Didn't hear a single airplane while there. Amazing hotel and would return if travel plans take us back to Hawaii. Check availability and book Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club |
