We stayed for 4 days in January and had a great time. Room was clean, view was wonderful, price was right, food was good. Never saw a bug, staff were friendly. We will be back.
My husband and I stayed at the Radisson Kauai, January 24th-29th. I was VERY skeptical of staying there because of other reviews talking of roaches and other uninvited "guests". I actually E-mailed the hotel wondering their procedures for spraying for bugs and their policy if there should happen to be a problem. They assured me they sprayed weekly and that I would not have any problems. They told the truth, because there wasn't a bug in site!! Thank goodness! The beach is very rocky and not even very nice to take a walk on, however there are so many nice swimmable beaches close by it wasn't a big deal. The free happy hour and live entertainment was great. The grounds are beautifuly landscaped and pool area is very cool! Even though the hotel is near the airport, the sound of the planes were not a problem, I only heard one ! We had breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel one morning. Fair priced if you don't order the $15.00 buffet. A few places we especially liked for dinner were in Kapaa, Lemongrass, Coconuts, & Fish Bowls- very good! They DO charge $6.25 a day for parking, but they said if you park your vehcle yourself or use valet, it 's the same. We just took advantage of valet, they of course expected a tip, but we were already paying for parking so didn't think tipping was necessary! We had a wonderful stay and would definatly return to the Radisson for our next visit to Paradise!
The Radisson is nice, but charging $6.25 a day to park your car was stupid. Almost everyone will have a rental car on Kauai, probably 95%. Just put the charge in the room rate. When you buy a package deal you think you have the bulk of your trip paid for and then find out about the other charges.I also felt that charging to use the laundryroom was out of line. We have stayed in plenty of 3* hotels that don't charge for the use of the laundryroom. Then room was clean the bed was really hard. I would still rate this hotel as a 3*, but I would look again at other hotels without parking charges before booking the Raddison Kauai Beach again.
