Hotel overview

• This turreted pink-stucco hotel has attracted travelers to its "old Hawaii" charm since its opening in 1927.
• A pink color scheme prevails—right down to the linens and plush towels in all 556 guestrooms.
• The hotel’s roped-off private beach is an exclusive setting for Outrigger canoeing, surf lessons, and Waikiki’s only oceanfront luau.

Pink, as in sheets and towels. An international cast of regulars and first-timers accustomed to hushed, luxurious leisure. More pink, as in striped umbrellas and awnings. Lush gardens and grassy swaths throughout the 10-acre site. Even more pink, as in the lobby's vaulted ceiling and in the wood-beam ceiling of the lobby's T-shaped extension. Art deco touches like huge arched mirrors in the public spaces and above the hotel's shops. Still more pink, as in the long, frilly dresses worn by some female staff and in the shirts of male staff. Gorgeous floral rugs in the lobby. And, finally, blue, as in the large pots balancing atop exterior walls and containing spiky pale-green plants.

Property amenities

From a fresh-flower lei greeting to fresh banana bread served upon arrival, from sunning on a roped-off private beach to luaus on the beach, from the Queen Anne–style room decor to the tranquil lush-grass coconut grove outside the original entrance, Royal Hawaiian guests recognize this hotel is a special place where graceful hospitality is paramount and tradition is honored. The exercise facility and children’s programs are offered at the hotel’s sister Sheraton properties.

Guests staying at any one of the four Sheraton Hotels in Waikiki can sign charges to their room for dining, shows, oceanfront bars, and entertainment options at any of the properties.

Policies

Extra person charges may apply depending on hotel policy. There are no room charges for children under 18 when occupying same room as adults and using existing beds in room. If additional bed (rollaway) is required, the additional person charge applies. There is no charge for a crib.
Rollaway beds and cribs are available at no additional charge. Both are subject to availability and should be requested at the time of booking.
Photo identification and credit card or cash deposit are required upon check-in for incidental charges.
All special requests are subject to availability upon check-in. Porterage Fees are $2.35 in/$2.35 out plus tax, per person (subject to change). Taxes: 4.16% Hawaii State General Excise Tax and 7.25% Transient Accommodations Tax (subject to change).

Recreation

Many recreational activities are available in the area surrounding the hotel. Surfboards, boogie boards, kayaks, ocean rafts, snorkel sets, and umbrella-and-beach-chair sets can be rented on Waikiki Beach. Outrigger canoes and catamarans offer rides from the beach.

Rooms

Palatial pink stucco oceanfront hotel with 556 rooms. Historic Wing with colonial-style furnishings and pink color scheme throughout was built in 1927. Tower was built in 1969, and 2002-2003 remodeling has brought rooms up to 21st-century standards, with contemporary furnishings. All rooms air conditioned. Other features: Pink sheets and towels, soft bathrobes, high-speed Internet access, video-game consoles.

Garden-view room

One king bed, two double beds, or two twin beds. Located in Historic Wing, room offers garden views. Colonial Hawaiian plantation-style furniture. Other features: Air conditioning, pink sheets and towels, thick bathrobes, high-speed Internet access, video-game console. No lanai.

Garden View Escape

Royal Ocean

Family Junior Garden Suite

One king or two twin beds. Located in Historic Wing, room offers garden views. 467 square feet. Colonial Hawaiian plantation-style furniture. Other features: air conditioning, pink sheets and towels, thick bathrobes, high-speed Internet access, video-game console. Sitting area alcove with sofa and table can be closed off for privacy. Some rooms have sofa beds. No lanai.
