Hawaii marriage requirements

Obtaining a marriage license is relatively easy on Hawaii. There are no residence or citizenship requirements. The legal age to marry is 18.

For getting a marriage license you should present a certified copy of a birth, military I.D., or driver's license to proof your age. The fee for a marriage license is 50 $, payable in cash at the time you file your application.

Hawaii state law does not require witnesses at the ceremony, although some wedding consultants and officiants will offer them to you.

Hawaii climate provide all opportunities for outdoor wedding. It's warm all the year, and rains are frequent only in December-February. Both beaches and parks are public and free to use for wedding ceremonies.

If you travel to Hawaii for wedding, you should add some Hawaiian style to your wedding ceremony. Hawaiian music is very romantic, so you definitely should have it on the ceremony. The "Hawaiian Wedding Song" by Elvis from "Blue Hawaii" film is common at weddings here. It is also a good idea to invite hula dancers. It brings a special character to your Hawaii wedding ceremony and makes it unforgettable.
