I made my trip to Maui in October, 2005. By that time I had enough Frequent Flyer Miles on US Airways to use for my Hawaiian vacation. So, I got the ticket, and I had to decide where to stay and what to do on Maui. Studying Hawaii related websites and forums, I came across a link to the Banana Bungalow Maui Hostel. I read opinions of other travelers and decided to stay at this hostel. Frankly speaking, the cheap rates they offered helped make my decision. The facilities are not great there, but they are good and kept clean. In a word, it's a good choice if you're on a budget. At the airport I bought Maui guidebook and always used it while I was there. It was a very helpful reading; it gave a great overview of things to do and to see on Maui. I traveled to Lahaina, Hana. The one of my strongest impressions was Haleakala National Park with its amazing panoramic views.
Hi, everyone! I want to tell you about the best vacation I ever had. We - my sister and me - spent 5 nights on Maui and 3 nights on Kauai. It was first time on Hawaii for both of us. First we arrived to Maui. We stayed at The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach. It's great place. The location is very convenient and our room was clean and very nicely decorated. We spent five days on Maui, and, I must say, the island amazed me. We rented a car and visited many nice places - Molokini Crater, Hana, Haleakala Crater. Of course, we visited Lahaina, it's just close to Kaanapali. Lahaina seemed to me a bit overfilled with tourist shops. Cute, though. Some place I would recommend for dining: Hula Grill (in the Whalers Village), Paia Fishmarket (excellent fresh fish). Then we say goodbye to Maui and moved to Kauai. It was absolutely magical! We snorkeled in Tunnels, kayaked in the river, and hiked the Napali coast. I loved Kauai! |
